A free ebook of tales

Back in the late 90s, I gave a lot of readings in NYC, including at the famed KGB bar. I've picked a couple of the most popular stories from back then and collected them together with a few new tales, in an ebook. I will soon be reading them, as if you were sitting in a NYC literary bar. When it's ready, you can sit back and listen, or read them, even read along—whatever you'd like. Just let me know where to send them. You'll get the audiobook once it's ready. Promise.

I take your privacy seriously. Unsubscribe at any time.

    What you get:

A private reading just for you.

Of Selecting Ourselves as an ebook and an audiobook, as read by the author. There's also a way to listen online if you'd rather—easier to read along that way.

Those and occasional emails, about once a month, which include other freebies, like links to curated playlists of songs referenced in A Perfect Blindness, now an Amazon best selling novel. And updates on a fantasy duology I'm hard at work on, set in a Bronze age world where a divorced father of two from Brooklyn finds himself lost.

    What is it all about?

Imagine that you’re sitting in a Manhattan bar with 20-foot-high ceilings, its walls covered with old Soviet posters of Lenin, Stalin, and a hammer & sickle or two. The room smells of whiskey and lingering in the background, the scent of decades of cigarettes smoked by editors and publishers, sipping on cocktails as another writer steps up to the lectern.

There you watch the pages being spread, and then a voice takes off, sending you to another world. A voice taking you away to Mexico City and Chicago of the 80s and 90s, and off to worlds where gods still roam the land and magic can kill, to bullfights and night clubs and intoxicating passion.
